Luke's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe that it has been three years since I had Luke...the time has gone by so quickly! He went from being the most mellow baby to being a CRAZY 3 year old in the blink of an eye!
For Luke's birthday, we went to Chuck E. Cheese. This was rather brave, considering the wonderful experience the last time we went. I won't go into it right now (too long of a story), but let's just say there was throw-up, weird people, and bad service involved. Needless to say, we received a free family pass to go back and experience the greatness of Chuck E. Cheese again. It wasn't quite as bad this time...but I should say, the weird people are still there. I could stay all night and just people-watch...amazing!
Luke had a great time though! He especially loved Chuck E. Cheese (who I find quite creepy). He actually kissed him on the nose...hopefully he doesn't get Hepatitis or some crazy illness.
Grandma Judy came to celebrate with us and after a couple of hours of fun we headed home to play with Luke's new toys.

First Day of School 2010

I have decided it is about time I updated our blog...considering it has been almost 2 years since my last post! Now that I have figured out our camera (we bought 2 years ago), I will hopefully be posting on a more regular basis! This is a good way for my parents who are serving in the New York New York South mission to keep up to date on the happenings of our family.

School started on the 26th of July for us...big bummer, considering that we got out on the 2nd of July. Kate and Sam hardly had a summer. We tried to make it as fun as possible by getting Seven Peaks passes for the family. We were able to go 5 times this summer and it was money well spent!

Our first day of school went well. Both girls have fantastic teachers...which we know makes all the difference in the world! We are very grateful for happy, fun and loving teachers!

We finally had our pictures taken as a family! I am so happy with how they turned out....THANK YOU Jason! You never know how things will go with three little ones. It was a cold day, but we managed to get some smiles (and runny noses)! I can't figure out how to get them all the same size...I've tried and tried and I have given up.

We are so grateful to Jason for taking some time out to take these...you are so great!

While I am at it, I have to write down the funny thing that happened the other night. Matt was out of town and I had just finished teaching piano. Needless to say, it was a crazy night. Kids were running around screaming (all in fun) and I had just told the girls to change their clothes so we could go out to get some dinner. For some weird reason, when my kids change out of their clothes, they start running around and screaming (I don't know where they get that from)! During all of the commotion, the doorbell rang. Without thinking, Kate and Sam opened the door...and when realizing that they were not dressed...they ran away screaming (again). I got to the door to find a not too amused police officer standing there. I kept apologizing for the girls behavior...and then he said he actually had a reason for being there...someone had phoned in a call from our number. Just then (no joke), Luke comes toddling around the corner holding a phone. Sure enough, he had dialed 911 (along with a sequence of numbers). I was so embarrassed...but now I can laugh at it! Officer friendly (as I like to call him), told me that they had been listening in on the call and heard all of the commotion so they came to check it out. What a crazy night!

Little Haunts!

Last week we went with Em, Hayley and Max to Little Haunts at This is the Place State Park. What a great deal! The kids absolutely loved it....they had tons of crafts, a petting zoo, pony rides, 2 train rides, and a candy canon. We even saw 2 snakes...very exciting!

St.George and Luke's 1st Birthday!

What a fun couple of weeks! Matt had to work in St. George for a couple of days and my parent's had the condo the same week....so we all went together! We had a fantastic time doing the usual...swimming and eating out. We had such a great time with my parents. They are both amazing people, and so much fun to be around. We probably drove them crazy after a week together...but we sure had a blast!

It just so happened that Luke had his first birthday while we were in St. George. He loved eating his own cupcake (he actually had 3)....and the girls had a great time, too! When we got home, we had a big family birthday party at Becky's house for Luke and Benj. Of course, Becky made her awesome cakes...and she even made a cute little one for Luke. He loved it!

I am so grateful for Luke and the joy he has brought to our family. He is such a happy little mellow guy. He hardly cries...even when he is sick or hurt. Luke always has a smile on his face and a little love for anyone who picks him up. I think after having two "Daddy's girls" I actually have a "Mommy's boy". What a cutie!

Sam started pre-school this week....and as I went to take her picture, I realized my camera was out of batteries! What do you do?!

So, I decided to make a little slideshow of some of our pictures of Sam. She is such a funny kid, and she is growing up so fast! This was a very exciting week for her....she started pre-school with Ms. Jenny and also started her CDO (Communication Disorders Only) class with Ms. Malia. She was very excited to be a "big girl" and go to school like Kate. We are very proud of her and we are so blessed to have her in our family.

Today was Kate's first day of school...I can hardly believe it. I have to admit.....I thought this would be much easier than it was. I am not sure who was more nervous. This summer has been the best! We have done so much with both of our families----in fact, I think it even wore me out a bit. We started with a trip to Park City with the Timm's (sorry, no pictures!). The highlight of our trip was going down the Alpine Coaster. It was a blast---and anyone who knows Kate knows how much she loves fast rollercoasters. I definitely think it is better than the Alpine Slide---I think Kate would agree.

The following weekend we had our Terry Family Reunion. What an awesome weekend. We played so hard that I actually got sick---and I still haven't recovered.....crazy!

We went to Deer Creek reservoir for waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing and kneeboarding (I forgot my camera again) Kate loved kneeboarding and mastered her "trick" of kneeboarding with no hands. Sam went on the tube---but of course, cried the whole time!

The next morning we went to Snowbird to do all of the activities up there....

I can't believe how much Kate has grown up this past year! She grew to love pre-school and soccer and is SO excited for kindergarten to start in August(she's especially excited to ride the bus with Sophie). Her graduation was on June 12th---the day before her favorite teacher, Ms. Jenny had emergency surgery. She will definitely miss seeing her friends and Ms. Jenny every week....on to the next chapter....kindergarten!

Lake Powell was great this year, other than the fact that Dave and Em couldn't come (they were moving into their new home). We usually go in August, but this year we went the beginning of June so Uncle Benj could come. We are used to 70-80 degree water.......this year it was a mere 65 degrees......brrrrrrr.

Memorial Day with the Terry's

I feel so blessed to have married into such an incredible family! Matt's family is so great, and it is so much fun when all of the little cousins get together.
We spent the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend at Matt's Mom's house for a BBQ and birthday celebration (Caroline and Evan's first birthdays)! It has become a tradition to hike up the Alpine cemetery to Grandpa Mike's grave. It is sad to think that I never had the chance to meet Grandpa Mike....but I know that he was a wonderful man. He helped raise seven amazing children who all married equally amazing spouses and have so far created a total of 23 grandchildren (3 on the way)!
I can't wait to meet him someday.

Matt was traveling a lot with work during May, so my parents offered to take me and the kids to St. George for a few days. I have to admit, I was a little nervous to go without Matt...but we ended up having such a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. It was fun to see Kate and Sam swim with Grandpa Ken, and I definitely loved talking with my mom at the pool. Luke was such a good boy ! He hardly made a peep the whole time we were there. I swear he loves to be by a pool....just like his mommy.

Okay.....

So I haven't been the best at updating the blog. I feel like I haven't had a minute to even sit down and work on it. There are many things which have happened since the last update-----trips, Memorial Day, more trips, pre-school graduation, and soccer! I will do my best at updating on everything---I have to warn you though.....it is quite a lot!!!

The end of May I went on a girl trip with Beth and Meg! What a fun weekend it was....shopping, Satin Hands, a movie, and lots of eating out. We happened to go to sunny St. George on a weekend that it wasn't so sunny. It was actually cooler in St. George than in Salt Lake---strange! Since we couldn't lay out at the pool.....we had to shop!

We had such a great time in Mesquite! It was so nice to lay around in the warm sun at the pool! Kate had a great time going down the water slide and playing with her new friend Savannah! We just layed around all day.......What a life!!

I just wanted to show the GREAT SURPRISE I woke up to this morning. I could hear Kate and Sam working in the kitchen as I fed Luke, and I wondered what on earth they could be doing to make such a racket (I was a little nervous). It turns out they wanted to surprise me by making breakfast! They wanted to pretend we were at a restaurant (notice the flowers).

This is mine----I was a little scared to ask what the bowl of band-aids was for. Of course-----just in case I slip on the floor! They thought of everything!

The best part......dessert! My favorites----Swedish Fish, M&M's and jellybeans. AWESOME!!!

Matt's dream of having a little football player has finally come true---although, not quite the way he had hoped!
Luke's helmet arrived and he was fitted for it today. He screamed forever---but started doing better about an hour before we put him to bed. We have been searching high and low for little U of U and BYU stickers to make it look "cool". I have to admit---he does look kind of cute in it!

WOW!!
This has sure taken me a long time to figure out how to do this....so be patient with me while I learn the world of blogging! Here it goes.....
We are the Terry family.....Matt, Angie, Kate, Sam and Luke. As you can see from our pictures....we have dang cute kids!
Matt and I met during the summer of 2001. I guess you could say it was a "whirlwind romance" as it only took us 5 months until we were married. I have to say, it has been the most amazing experience to be married to such an incredible person. Some say marriage requires hard work-----we certainly don't believe it! It hasn't been the least amount of work and we have loved every minute of it!!!
Just a little about us, along with a few of our favorite things:
Matt:
Awesome bishop----I can't believe it has already been two years....what a ride!
Loves playing golf, reading, watching movies, exercising, snow skiing, wakeboarding, running, studying and eating cereal late at night (or anytime for that matter)
Watches the sports highlights EVERY night on the news
Will probably compete in at least a few triathlons this year
Loves to be with his family and play with Kate, Sam and Luke
Angie:
Still getting used to being the "Mother of the Ward"--- I feel so old! (Did I say I can't believe it has already been two years?)
Loves shopping, Disneyland, any vacation, going to movies, American Idol, reading, boating, going out to eat and, of course, NAPTIME!
Will NOT compete in a triathlon---but will definitely be a good cheerleader!
